HENNA body art

Mehndi, your way.

Henna is an ancient form of body art with a visual language that continues to evolve.

From delicate, minimal designs to intricate mehndi, every piece is drawn by hand and adapted to the person wearing it – their ideas, the placement and the natural lines of the body.

Whether you are marking a special occasion or simply want to wear something beautiful for a while, your henna can be as traditional, contemporary, subtle or expressive as you want it to be.

Ideas and inspirations

You are welcome to arrive with an exact reference image, a few motifs you love, or simply an idea of the style and feeling you are looking for.

When working from a reference, I may adapt the proportions and composition to suit your hand or the area of the body where the design will be placed.

A pattern that works beautifully on one person may need small adjustments to sit just as naturally on another.

If you would rather have something created especially for you, we can build the design around the placement, size and details that matter to you.

The aim is not to fit you into a particular style, but to create a design that works beautifully on you.

FROM TRADITIONAL TO CONTEMPORARY

Henna is far more versatile than the intricate Indian mehndi it is often associated with.

I love the richness and detail of traditional patterns, but I am equally drawn to contemporary body art: minimal linework, botanical designs, geometric compositions, celestial motifs and more unconventional ideas.

The material does not dictate the style.

Henna can be traditional or contemporary, delicate or bold, minimal or richly detailed.

Freshly mixed natural henna

I prepare my henna paste fresh using carefully selected ingredients whose composition I know.

Natural henna does not produce a black stain.

Once the paste is removed, the colour begins as a light orange and gradually deepens over the following 24–48 hours into warm reddish-brown to rich chestnut tones.

I do not use so-called “black henna” or pre-mixed henna pastes of unknown composition. For me, knowing what goes onto the skin is just as important as the finished design.

WATCH THE COLOUR DEVELOP

The design is finished. The colour isn’t.

One of the most beautiful things about natural henna is that its colour continues to change after the appointment.

When the paste first comes away, the stain is usually pale orange. Over the next 24–48 hours it gradually deepens, revealing the warm reddish-brown or chestnut colour of mature henna.

HENNA FOR EVENTS

An experience your guests can take with them

Henna works beautifully as part of an event because it is both an experience and something personal each guest gets to leave with.

I provide henna body art service for corporate events, cultural programmes, festivals, private celebrations and weddings.

The design selection and setup are tailored to the character of the event, the number of guests and the time available.

For larger events, I work with a coordinated team of henna artists so that more guests can be accommodated while keeping the experience organised and the quality of the work consistent.

Henna does not have to feel like a children’s activity or a casual festival extra. With the right designs and presentation, it can sit just as naturally within an elegant celebration, an adult-focused event or a sophisticated corporate setting.

HENNA or JAGUA?

Looking for something darker or more of a statement?

If you love the idea of temporary body art but are drawn to deep indigo tones and a more tattoo-like aesthetic, jagua opens up a completely different visual world.
